The inaugural edition of the TechOps Virtual Conference was successfully hosted by Express Computer on March 10, 2022. The virtual conference, themed ‘Unlocking the power of automation, AI and emerging technologies to improve IT infrastructure performance’saw the participation of DSI, CXO and several distinguished speakers, who highlighted how technologies such as AI, RPA, blockchain and intelligent document processing can be useful in automating complex business processes.

Today, the role of IT teams has changed. It’s not just about managing basic IT operations, but also about working on complex IT infrastructure. This, coupled with growing volumes of data, makes it more difficult for IT teams to manage in today’s dynamic and constantly changing IT environments. In this new world that is increasingly defined by digital processes, it is important for IT managers to review the way they plan their technology architecture, key processes and required skills.

In order to discuss and understand the prevailing digital automation trends and technologies, Express Computer, an IT publication of Indian Express Group, inaugurated its first edition of TechOps virtual conference on March 10, 2022 in partnership with SUSE and STTelemedia Global Data Centers.

The virtual conference, themed Unleashing the Power of Automation, Artificial Intelligence, and Emerging Technologies to Improve IT Infrastructure Performance, featured participation from CIOs, CXOs, and several distinguished speakers. They shared their insights into the use cases of successful organizations and explored how technologies such as AI, RPA, blockchain, and intelligent document processing can be useful in automating complex business processes.

The conference began with an interesting fireside chat: “Lessons Learned and Best Practices from Modernizing IT Infrastructure” with Krishnan Venkateswaran, Chief Digital and Information Officer, Titan Company Limited.

Venkateswaran said the share of revenue from investments in digital transformation by very large organizations across the world is steadily increasing. He added, “We are one of the first organizations in India to implement a full-service ERP for a manufacturing operation. Store automation has been a priority for us. A combination of manufacturing, supply chain automation, and point-of-sale systems is a constant practice for us at Titan. Many pieces of automation have come to the cloud over the past couple of years. »

Next, Neeraj Athalye, General Manager, Indian Subcontinent, SUSE explained organizations’ cloud-native transformational journeys in his session titled “Open Source Open Doors.”

“Startups and fintechs are at an all-time high in investments. Hybrid cloud helps reduce costs and accelerate business transformation. Working from home has become a new work culture within the framework organizational. Nowadays, healthcare has become a huge industry. Disruption is seen as a big trend in all industries. Open source software improves security features in vulnerable areas,” Athalye explained.

Moving forward, Goutam Datta, Chief Information and Digital Officer, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Co. Ltd, spoke about the “essentials for a successful automation journey” in a fireside chat . Datta said, “Automation helps minimize the risk of human-made errors. Our company was primarily involved in RPA, business process automation, and self-help automation. Since the pandemic, the demand for technology has increased enormously. Aligning the technology delivery team with the business delivery team has been a challenge. The insurance industry is divided into three main pillars: general insurance, life insurance and health insurance. »

Following this, Rohit Tiku, AVP-Sales, STT GDC India shared his perspective on “Data Centers Built for a Connected World”. He said the Indian cloud market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 26% by 2026.

“Data never sleeps, it never stops accumulating. Mobility has put the Internet in the hands of customers. The trend towards data localization is constantly increasing. Analytics helps make more sense of data. Cloud and data centers are complementary in nature and go hand in hand,” Tiku explained.

The conference continued with another interesting fireside chat on “How insuretech is changing the landscape of the insurance industry in 2022” by Girish Nayak, Head – Customer Service, Technology and Operations, ICICI Lombard GIC Ltd.

According to Nayak, the pandemic has been a game-changer on the digital front. He shared, “We try to turn one-off interaction into ongoing engagement with customers. Move from the old waterfall development approach to a more agile development principle. The risk management part of the value chain needs to be targeted. The use of AI allows organizations to predict events in advance rather than being reactive. »

KV Dipu, Operations and Customer Service Manager, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance led the conference with his session on “Best Practices for Using IT Infrastructure Automation to Your Advantage”.

“Modern applications must be dynamic in nature. Software teams must constantly plan new deployment environments. Manual deployment can be extremely slow. IT automation strategy includes compliance standardization and automation can clearly eliminate vulnerabilities associated with human error during manual provisioning,” Dipu said.

Next was a fireside chat titled “How Manufacturing Organizations are Harnessing the Power of Automation to Improve IT Infrastructure Performance” by Udit Pahwa, IT Manager, Huhtamaki India.

Pahwa said, “We have followed the cloud first approach in our business. We are looking at areas where we can minimize human intervention and integrate the technological aspect. We have moved uptime to 99.99% on our network despite our reliance on external network providers. Analytical and predictive models and tools can help us anticipate when the event is likely to occur. Manufacturing organizations need to continuously engage with the end user community.

The conference ended with the award ceremony. The award-winning organizations recognized by Express Computer were:
