New Delhi [India]May 21 (ANI/ATK): Unified Brainz celebrated women’s success by leading by example with Glitz, Glamor & Glory on International Women’s Day on March 8, 2022. The world witnessed the most anticipated event “Women Leaders to look Until 2022” for digital reasons. This glorious ceremony saw the presence of some of the most sought after female leaders who were featured from different walks of life sharing a passionate journey.
As a leading psychotherapist, mental health consultant, speaker and author, the influential Dr. Charryse Johnson is a promoter of holistic wellness. His passion is rooted in the belief that our past only holds the power we have relinquished – it is only meant to be a place of reference, not a place of residence.
The early years of Dr. Johnson’s life were marked by constant change and uncertainty. She attended a different school every year until she entered high school. Attending college offered stability and proved to be the turning point that set the course of her life in motion. While at Lee University, Dr. Johnson was mentored by teachers and professors and had leadership opportunities that helped her recognize the impact she could have in the lives of others. Dr. Johnson recalls, “Even as a young adult student, I had a heart for those in need and a passion for helping others turn their pain into purpose.”
Speaking about what brought her into the field of mental health, she says, “When I’ve met people living well below their potential, I find they blame their experiences rather than their efforts. It fueled my desire to help people embrace the relentless pursuit of learning. and unlearn. Growth requires both intention and personal responsibility. We need to take ownership of our history and explore all the patterns that sustain cycles of defeat, because we repeat what we don’t fix.
After working for years as a psychotherapist, Dr. Johnson founded ‘Jade Integrative Counseling and Wellness’, to provide individuals and families with comprehensive, collaborative care and support. Over the past fifteen years, she has had the privilege of helping hundreds of people navigate between struggle and strength. She has seen them step out of their comfort zone, get the job done, and experience unimaginable growth and lasting change.

A passionate community advocate, Dr. Johnson regularly serves as an expert mental health consultant supporting WBTV, Queen City News, educational institutions and non-profit organizations. She is an expert panelist for HER Health Collective and has contributed to published works supporting organizations such as The Carolinian Newspaper, Ragan Communications and In 2021, she collaborated with My Vinyasa Practice and helped develop and facilitate the Enrich program: Courageous Conversations about Self, Yoga and Social Justice. The year also led to her becoming a founding board member of Leaves from Stella, a nonprofit that supports young adults who have lost a parent or sibling.
Dr. Johnson is a much sought-after speaker and panelist at summits around the world. She presents topics such as corporate well-being, mental health, anti-racism, parenting and family. Dr. Johnson is the host of the “Live Life with Ease” and “Our Hidden Stories” podcast, and in August 2021 released a bestselling book – Expired Mindset: Unleashing Patterns That No Longer Serve You Well.
When asked what has been the biggest challenge in your journey, Dr Johnson said: “As women we face a wide range of challenges. For example, I operate in a field where only 6% of mental health clinicians are black women. I walk into the room, I will be in the minority and seen through a continuum of stereotypes. If I’m direct, it can be considered tough, or if I’m driven, it can be considered aggressive or competitive. I’ve learned to trust what I know about myself, and the only competition is “Me versus me.” I’m not afraid to challenge social expectations and this has allowed me to create my own path marked by autonomy and agency.”
Establishing and maintaining clear boundaries has underpinned Dr. Johnson’s success as a woman leader. “I am comfortable communicating my needs and am willing to say ‘pass on’ experiences where the cost outweighs the benefits. “Opportunity comes to those who create it, so stop waiting for permission to own your greatness!” summarizes Dr. Johnson.
