LATEST NEWS: Creating Change 2022 Pivots to Virtual Event

The National LGBTQ Task Force announced today (Wednesday, December 22) that the 34th annual Create Change conference that was set for January 12-16 at the Hilton Riverside hotel in New Orleans has become a fully virtual conference . New dates for the virtual conference will be announced shortly.

Kierra Johnson, executive director of the task force, explained the decision to go virtual was based on the uncertain status of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak

“While disappointing, we need to put the health and well-being of our attendees, volunteers, staff and other conference supporters first,” Johnson said. “Despite the strict protocols we have instituted, given the increasing number of cases of Omicron variants, we believe the safest and most responsible decision is to virtually come together as we did in January 2021. .

“We know that Creating Change is a unique and empowering experience for our community and everyone who attends brings so much love and passion to the conference, but our responsibility above all is to take care of each other,” said she declared.

Creation Change Conference Director Danny Linden added, “We will be announcing what the programming will look like for Create Change 2022 and beyond as soon as possible. We are grateful to all attendees, attendees and sponsors for their understanding as we move into a virtual experience and the opportunity to bring the creation of change to an even wider audience.
