Air University TLC is offering a free virtual lecture for educators and students in military education communities > Maxwell Air Force Base > Show

Air University Teaching and Learning Center offers a free two-day virtual conference for those who work and study in military learning communities.

The Military Teaching and Learning Scholarship Forum will run from April 13-14, 2022. The forum is open to all educators, instructional developers, researchers, administrators, and students.

The MSOTL Forum offers plenary sessions and small group presentations of research specific to military learners in seven streams: evidence-based teaching strategies; faculty development; Evaluation; learning theories and andragogy; distributed learning; educational technology; and research methods.

“Participation in the forum puts the power of educational research into the hands of those who need it most – our frontline educators in military education organizations,” said Dr. Megan Hennessey, director of the center of teaching and learning of the AU. “The conference provides a collaborative venue to discuss research findings in the classroom, which in turn affect the decisions educators make about teaching strategies and resources. This is a very accessible way to learn cutting-edge research leading to actionable recommendations for military educators. »

The keynote speaker is Dr. Susan Hrach, Director of the Faculty Center and Professor of English at Columbus State University (Ga.). She is the author of “Minding Bodies: How Physical Space, Sensation, and Movement Affect Learning”. Hrach’s presentation is from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (CST), April 13.

Arbitrated presenters from more than 35 different military education organizations, the Journal of Military Learning, and Air University Press will share cutting-edge research and actionable recommendations. Participants will learn from scholar-practitioners and experts in the military education community with a focus on how to apply evidence-based strategies in their own learning environment.
